Gabriel’s Lady
By Charlotte Hubbard
Reviewed by Megan Kelly
The latest in the Angels of Mercy series,gabriel ’s lad y, tells of the
healing power of love. When Gabe Getty loses everything important to him, he
retreats to the home of his friend, Billy Bristol, where he finds solace--
Solace Monroe, that is. The young girl has grown into a spirited horse
trainer, who steps out of the normal role for women of the time, wanting to
be a circus performer and novelist.
Fans of the series will delight in seeing the two characters as adults;
however, those who haven’t read the first four books will have no trouble
understanding the families’ backgrounds. This story illustrates the
struggles of family dynamics in a realistic way. Ms. Hubbard brings us the
feel of the Kansas prairie and the constricting roles of the 1800’s in an
enjoyable, inspirational tale.
