The Captain´s Courtesan

I shall never look at pearls the same way again!

Melissa MacNeal has created the ultimate in naughty, pirate fantasy with this book, The Captain’s Courtesan, part of Aphrodisia’s anthology, The Pleasure of His Bed. One of my favorite lines, “What a fine, feisty slave you are,” Damon whispered. ‘Nough said?

Sofia Martine is set to accompany the two eldest Havisham daughters to America on board the Lady Constance. But once having met the fine Captain and partaking of his delectable body, Sofie sets her sights on more than babysitting the girls. Hurt that he treats her like a common whore, she steals away on his own ship, the Courtesan, and awaits his presence below decks.

Astounded to find the little minx from his romp the previous night, naked in his bed, Damon Delacroix doesn’t know what to do. She fires his libido like no other but he has the Captain’s image to uphold. Even though he knows he’s hurt her, he must punish her, both for her own safety from the randy men on ship and for his own peace of mind. Shackled, Sofia finds herself the cook’s help and what better way to a man’s heart than through his stomach?

Intrigue abounds, making for rough waters when one of Damon’s men goes after Sofia for his own. Oh, and then there’s the bit about Blackbeard, the witch, being locked up in a sheep’s pen, and getting shot by one’s lover.

Melissa has written a fun, sexy romp complete with booty. I loved this lusty, pirate-filled, historical fantasy and can’t recommend it enough. And be warned…this is hot!

Teri Whalen ran away from commitment when she broke off her engagement. Her limited edition truck was the only love of her life until a dumptruck crashed into it, spilling tar all over the body. Dealing with the insurance company was not her idea of fun until she met the adjuster.

Max Harper is happy with raising his young daughter and trying to make up from a flighty mother searching for stardom. He doesn’t plan on any other long term commitment. His company is a sponsor on the NASCAR
Circuit and so he decides to try his luck at a dating, not wanting a serious relationship.

Famous last words. Both Teri and Max can’t fight the attraction they have for each other and must decide what is most important to them. Freedom from having to be accountable to another adult or the love of their lives.

Michele Dunaway’s latest NASCAR book is a fabulous read with enough race car details to paint the scene, but not to much that you're bored. Ms. Dunaway is a master story teller that draws you in and leads you on a journey that you wish you could see in person.
