Release of Liability
I understand I am submitting my work to be judged and critiqued
by judges selected by the MORWA contest coordinator or MORWA
board. I guarantee that I have read and understand all the rules
of this contest and agree to be bound by them. I guarantee that
I meet the eligibility requirements stated in the contest rules.
I guarantee this work to be my own work (or the work of the
authors herein listed and signing below).
I understand and accept that the judges are volunteers and that
their opinions are subjective interpretations of the contest
criteria as it applies to my work. I understand that judges’
decisions are deemed final. I agree to be bound by all judges’
decisions, all MORWA board decisions, and all contest officials’
decisions regarding any question or dispute arising from or
relating to the contest, interpretation of contest rules, and
matters relating to the contest not specifically covered by
contest rules. In the event of any dispute arising from or
relating to this contest, I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold
harmless MORWA, its officers, contest personnel, members,
judges, and Published Author from any and all liability.
I hereby give my permission for my name and title of work to be
published in the RWR, on the MORWA Web site, and in
MORWA’s newsletter, and for the work to be read aloud in part at
the Awards presentation if my submission is a finalist in any
category.
If I am the Grand Prize Winner, I accept that I am prohibited
from using Published Author’s Name without Published Author’s
express written consent in any communications—whether written,
electronic, or oral, including but not limited to cover letters
and queries to agents and editors. Winner acknowledges that even
if Winner implements all Critique into the complete manuscript,
it does not constitute Published Author’s endorsement of
manuscript or Published Author’s express written consent to the
use of her name.
I agree that the laws of the State of Missouri shall govern this
contest and any disputes arising from or relating to it. I
understand that my failure to agree to all of the above rules
and terms automatically disqualifies my entry.
